Quick Painting #1
Trying a new exercise. Quick 1 hour paintings from reference to help me build a little of every technique from figure drawing to rendering to color application. This one took a little longer than an hour 'cause I really wanted to get the face looking good. :P

Fantasy Illustration - Homework 2 - 2nd Draft
A modified version on the original piece. My teacher requires we follow our source material almost exactly to the letter. SO for my piece the details of the defenses against lycanthropy (cross, flintlock pistol, potions) had to be apparent. The big triple-barreled spike launcher wasn't acceptable, it had to be pistols. SO I re worked the weapons to dual flintlock pistols, that still fire silver stakes, as well as a small leg bandolier with extra stakes. Also added a castle of sorts for the background and a more realistic moon.

Fantasy Illustration - Homework 2 - Draft
Rough visual for my Fantasy Illustration class' next assignment. We now have a little freedom with the subject matter. Our teacher has a collection of stories on his website for us to choose from. We can make anything we want from a book jacket to a movie poster, or we can choose from a wide selection of predetermined scenarios within each story to illustrate. I chose one from a Werewolf role playing game. It mainly detailed defenses against Lycanthropy (The existence as a Werewolf), such as a silver cross, potions, and a gun that fires silver bullets. I took a few liberties (too many in fact) and gave my "werewolf huntress" a massive triple-barreled rifle that fires silver stakes (Just in case she happens upon a vampire), and put a dead werewolf in the foreground with a stake right through its head.
